Peggy McCoy: Professional Cowgirl

Fun fact about me, the author: I'm also a cattle rancher (surprise!). I grew up on my family's ranch in the foothills of California, and that experience has taught me many important life lessons I carried on into adulthood. I want to pass these lessons down through Peggy McCoy, a seven-year-old cowgirl who loves her job and isn't afraid of hard work. She is, admittedly, based loosely on my two sisters (who are much tougher cowgirls than me) and myself (because I was constantly asking questions).

The first book in this series is Peggy McCoy and her Blueberry Muffin.

While working on the ranch with Grandpa one day, Peggy McCoy finds an orphan calf.

She names the little blue heifer Blueberry Muffin, and works hard to bottle feed and take good care of her. Though things don't always go her way, Peggy learns what it means to be a responsible rancher and do what's best for her animals.

Coming soon!

In the meantime, enjoy some of my concept art!
